It’s the first day of June! As you know I write witches, I borrow much of the lore from ancient and not-so-ancient cultures. Plus, with the name Luna, I follow the moon calendar so I don’t miss the best viewing.
This solstice starts June 21 for the Northern Hemisphere, the start of our warmer temps and summer season.
Our new moon will be this Monday. So each quarter will track about a week out. The full moon will be June 17.
This month we have the Strawberry Moon. I’ve also heard it called the Lotus Moon, the Honey Moon, or the Rose Moon in the Northern Hemisphere.
Those in the Southern will of course have different names as they begin winter–Long Night’s Moon or Cold Moon.
