I’ve been asked by a few people over the past weeks: who decides when a book comes out and how fast a series is published? It depends.
If an author self-publishes as an indie, the author does. If the author is traditionally publishes, the publisher sets the date. Strategic release planning is key to getting a book in front of readers who are generous in giving hours of their time to read it.
Lots of moving parts go into the date. Lucky for me, my publisher City Owl Press takes care of all those moving parts. They’ve scheduled the release date for TIDES OF TIME on August 20, 2019.
TIDES is Book One of The Legacy Series. I’m currently drafting a future book in the series. Writing in all its stages takes time to craft a solid polished read with twists, turns, and all the fun subplots. I try to stay three books ahead of publication. I don’t always succeed, but I try. Maybe if I had a little Donovan magic…
